Earlier in the year I directed a brand new version version of 'The Positive Hour' by April de Angelis for the Brighton fringe
At The Lantern Theatre Brighton
I consider myself a film-maker rather than specifically a Director because I also write, edit, produce and occasionally I shoot. I love the simple affinity with people when making documentaries but equally from directing actors for screen and theatre - the imediacy of live performance has a palpable buzz that is like nothing else.
I directed 'Home Straight' a site specific piece of Theatre for Hydrocracker and The Nightingale Theatre set at the Brighton Racecourse. Devised and Written by Frank McCabe and a brilliant young cast.
I move between the fields of constructed and factual narrative, because I consider myself an investagitive storyteller accross many mediums and whilst I strive to look harder, record more thouroughly and interpret more creatively I can invest what I learn in one area and bring it to another. Or something like that...
I've produced and editing a series of twelve short documentaries for the british thyroid foundation - medical experts and patients from around the country tell their stories.
Shooting on the blackmagic cinema camera.
